My name is Steven Fry. I am a senior landscape architecture student at Ball State University. In May of 2001, I will complete the curriculum of this five-year professional degree program. As part of the process of acquiring a full-time position, I am seeking interviews during the coming spring. As a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, I feel that I could be an asset in a team-oriented environment, and would regard my assigned responsibilities as opportunities to prove myself in a professional setting.
Working in the field of landscape architecture for approximately the last eight years, I have gained abundant practical knowledge. I have worked for two separate design-build firms and a multi-disciplinary design firm. The design-build firm in which I worked most recently focused on residential design and construction, as well as some community planning. As a result of my experience, I feel that my hands-on knowledge of the construction process and plant material are two of my greatest assets. In the multi-disciplinary setting, I have also greatly added to my understanding of the design process from conception to the completion of construction documents. I have also attended the two-week Mike Lin graphics workshop, and am confident in my drawing and rendering skills.
